Guest Network Access Policy

IT & Security Network & Access Last reviewed: 2025-07-22 Owner: Infrastructure Services

Purpose

This policy establishes the rules and procedures for granting temporary network access to non-employees visiting Global Bank premises. Guest network access is provided as a courtesy to facilitate business meetings and collaboration; it does not grant access to any internal bank systems or data.

Policy Reference: IT-NET-005
Effective Date: 1 April 2024
Review Date: 1 April 2025
Applies To: All visitors, clients, auditors, vendors, and other non-employees requiring internet access on bank premises

Scope

This policy covers all Global Bank offices, branches, and data centre visitor areas across all geographic regions. Guest network access is available only through the designated GB-Guest wireless network. Under no circumstances may guests be connected to the corporate network (GB-Corporate) or the BYOD network (GB-Secure).

Sponsor Responsibilities

Every guest requiring network access must have a designated Global Bank employee sponsor. The sponsor is responsible for:

  • Registering the guest through the Visitor Management System prior to their arrival, or upon arrival at reception.
  • Approving the guest's network access request when notified via email.
  • Ensuring the guest is aware of and agrees to the Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Notifying IT Security if the guest's visit is cancelled or ends earlier than planned, so that access can be revoked promptly.
  • Escorting the guest at all times within restricted areas of the building.

Guest Registration Process

  1. The sponsor logs in to the Visitor Management Portal at visitors.globalbank.com.
  2. Select Register a Guest and complete the required fields:
    • Guest full name and organisation
    • Guest email address
    • Date and time of visit
    • Purpose of visit
    • Building and floor
  3. Submit the registration. The guest will receive a confirmation email with instructions for connecting to GB-Guest.
  4. Upon arrival, the guest connects to GB-Guest and is presented with a captive portal.
  5. The guest enters their name and email address. The sponsor receives an approval notification.
  6. Once the sponsor approves, the guest is granted internet access.
