Working on Public Holidays

Employees in roles that require public holiday working (e.g., trading operations, IT infrastructure support, security) will be compensated as follows:

  • Time off in lieu (TOIL): A substitute day off, to be taken within 3 months of the public holiday.
  • Enhanced pay: Where TOIL is not operationally feasible, the employee will receive pay at 1.5x their normal daily rate for the hours worked.

Public holiday working must be pre-approved by the line manager and recorded in Workday.

Religious and Cultural Observances

Global Bank respects the diverse religious and cultural backgrounds of its workforce. Employees who wish to take time off for religious or cultural observances not covered by their local public holiday calendar may use annual leave or request an unpaid day of absence. Requests should be submitted through Workday with reasonable notice.
