Learning and Development Catalogue

Global Bank is committed to the continuous professional development of all employees. The Learning and Development (L&D) function offers a broad range of programmes, from mandatory compliance training to elective leadership development and professional certification support. This article provides an overview of what is available and how to access it.

Learning Management System

All training is managed through SAP SuccessFactors Learning, the bank's Learning Management System (LMS). Employees can access the LMS at learning.globalbank.com or via the link in Workday under Career > Learning. The LMS allows you to:

  • Browse and enrol in available courses.
  • Track your learning history and certifications.
  • Access on-demand e-learning content.
  • View upcoming instructor-led training sessions.

Mandatory Training

All employees must complete the following mandatory training modules annually. Completion deadlines are enforced, and non-completion may affect performance ratings and bonus eligibility.

Elective Learning Programmes

The L&D team offers a rotating catalogue of elective programmes. Popular offerings include:

Leadership and Management

  • Emerging Leaders Programme: A 6-month blended programme for high-potential Associates and VPs, combining workshops, coaching, and a cross-divisional project. Nomination by line manager required.
  • New Manager Essentials: A 3-day classroom programme for employees taking on line management responsibilities for the first time.
  • Senior Leadership Forum: Quarterly sessions for Directors and Managing Directors featuring external speakers and strategic case studies.

Technical and Functional Skills

  • Advanced Excel and Financial Modelling: 2-day classroom course; run quarterly.
  • Python for Finance: 4-week online programme with weekly live sessions.
  • Regulatory Reporting Masterclass: 1-day workshop covering MiFID II, Basel III/IV, and IFRS 9 reporting.
  • Credit Risk Analysis: 3-day intensive programme delivered by an external provider.

Professional and Soft Skills

  • Effective Communication and Presentation Skills: 2-day workshop.
  • Negotiation Skills: 1-day workshop.
  • Time Management and Productivity: Half-day workshop + on-demand resources.
  • Resilience and Wellbeing: 2-hour interactive session delivered monthly.

Digital Learning Library

All employees have unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning platform, providing over 16,000 on-demand courses across business, technology, and creative skills. Access LinkedIn Learning through the LMS or directly at linkedin.com/learning using your Global Bank single sign-on credentials.

Professional Certifications

Global Bank supports employees pursuing relevant professional qualifications. The bank will fund:

  • 100% of exam fees for first attempts (e.g., CFA, FRM, ACCA, CISI, PRINCE2, PMP, AWS certifications).
  • Up to 5 days of paid study leave per year for approved certifications.
  • Textbooks and study materials up to £500 per certification.

To apply for certification support, submit a request through the LMS under Professional Certifications > Funding Request. Approval from your line manager and the L&D team is required.

Tuition Assistance

Employees pursuing part-time postgraduate degrees relevant to their role may apply for tuition assistance of up to £10,000 per academic year. Applications are reviewed by the L&D team and require line manager and divisional head approval. A minimum 2-year service commitment post-completion applies.
